Part I: Privacy Policy
Introduction
Welcome to the Ride Tracker app Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy describes how Ride Tracker app ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, processes, and protects your personal data when you use our mobile application, website, and related equestrian services (collectively, the "Service").
By registering for, accessing, or using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy, and you consent to the data collection and processing activities described herein.
1. Information We Collect
We collect several categories of information to provide you with an exceptional horse-tracking experience:
- Account and Profile Information: When you register an account, we collect your email address, username, password, and any profile details you choose to provide (such as first and last name, profile photo, and riding preferences). This information helps customize your user experience and assists other riders in locating you on the app.
- GPS Location and Ride Tracking Data: When you activate our ride tracking feature, we collect precise latitude, longitude, elevation, and speed data from your mobile device to map your routes, pace, duration, and coordinates. This data is collected in real-time and may be processed in the background while the app is active but minimized during your rides.
- Contextual Weather & Location Data: We utilize location data to deliver localized weather notices and tailored equine care recommendations, such as blanketing alerts, to ensure the health and safety of your horse.
- User Content: We host user-generated content, including photos, comments, horse profiles, and logs of your rides, that you upload or share publicly on the Service.
- Device and Usage Identifiers: We collect technical metadata automatically, including device identifiers, IP addresses, operating system types, browser models, referring URLs, log files, and analytics information to monitor app performance and diagnose technical bugs.
2. How We Use Your Information
We utilize the collected data for the following legitimate business purposes:
- Service Provisioning: To calculate your riding statistics, generate detailed trail maps, analyze gait patterns, and host your horse's activity logs.
- Equine Well-being and Alerts: To notify you of severe weather conditions and suggest blanketing intervals based on localized temperatures.
- Community Engagement: To allow you to search for friends, share routes, post photos, and rank on club leaderboards.
- Analytics & Improvements: To run analytics, optimize battery usage during long trail rides, and refine our proprietary gait detection algorithms.
- System Maintenance: To deliver mandatory system notifications, security warnings, and automatic software updates.
4. User Controls & Data Deletion
You maintain complete control and ownership of your personal data:
- Privacy Settings: You can control the visibility of your ride logs, horse profiles, and photos through your in-app settings.
- Account Modification & Deletion: You can edit your profile details at any time. If you wish to delete your account and remove all associated personal data permanently, you may do so directly through the account settings or by submitting a request to our support team.
Upon receiving your deletion request, we will expunge your records in a commercially reasonable timeframe, subject to standard legal retention obligations.
5. Children's Privacy
The Service is strictly intended for individuals aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under the age of 13. If we discover that we have inadvertently gathered personal data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe we might possess data from or about a child under 13, please notify us immediately.
6. How to Contact Us
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy, your user data, or the security of your information, please contact our support team through the official Help Center or email channels provided within the Ride Tracker app.
Part II: Service Terms
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding legal agreement between you and the Ride Tracker app ("we," "us," or "our"). By installing, accessing, or using the Ride Tracker app or related website services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these terms, you must immediately uninstall the app and cease all usage of the Service.

You must be at least 13 years of age to register an account and use the Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for all activities, content uploads, or interactions that occur under your credentials.
3. GPS Tracking and Weather Recommendations
The Ride Tracker app provides GPS location mapping, speed tracking, distance calculations, and weather-based recommendations (such as blanketing notifications) for informational and entertainment purposes only.
GPS data is subject to hardware limitations, satellite reception, and environmental factors. We do not guarantee the absolute accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of tracking metrics, trail maps, or weather notifications. Do not rely on the Service as a navigation aid in hazardous terrains or emergency situations.
4. Crucial Safety Warning & Risk Assumption
INHERENT DANGER OF EQUESTRIAN ACTIVITIES: Horseback riding, training, trail riding, and equine handling are inherently dangerous activities. They carry a significant risk of severe personal injury, permanent disability, paralysis, and death.
The Ride Tracker app is strictly a tracking, activity-logging, and entertainment tool. It is NOT a safety device, emergency beacon, or protective gear. The app does not prevent falls, predict horse behavior, or ensure your physical safety.
By using the Service, you explicitly agree that you participate in equestrian activities at your own risk. You assume full, sole, and exclusive responsibility and liability for your personal safety, the safety of others, and the health, care, and behavior of your horse during all app usage. You are solely responsible for wearing appropriate safety gear (including a certified helmet) and employing proper horsemanship.
5. Intellectual Property & User Content License
Proprietary Rights: We retain all rights, titles, and interests in the Ride Tracker app, including all source code, design systems, layouts, logos, and digital assets.
User Content License: You retain ownership of any photos, comments, horse logs, and trail maps you publish to the Service. However, by uploading User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully sub-licensable, and transferable license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content to provide and promote the Service, consistent with your selected privacy settings.
6. Limitation of Liability and Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Ride Tracker app, its founders, affiliates, employees, or contractors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, personal injury, property damage, loss of profits, data loss, or equine health issues) arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use the Service.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Ride Tracker app and its associates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your user content, or your negligent use of the app.
7. Governing Law and Termination
Termination: We reserve the right to suspend, disable, or terminate your user account or access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for any violation of these Terms or for conduct that we deem harmful to the community.
Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction of our business incorporation, without regard to conflict of law principles.
